We landed at Jamnagar Airport with excitement written all over our faces. Our comfortable AC car (arranged by Ravine Trek) awaited us – ready to take us deep into Gujarat’s wild heart.

The 4-hour drive to Sasan Gir was scenic and soulful – dotted with fields, mango orchards, and small dhabas. By afternoon, we checked into our beautiful stay – Teak Wood Resort, surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of nature.

Evening was pure relaxation – a dip in the pool, sunset tea, and quiet jungle breeze.
Tomorrow, we meet the king himself. 🦁

🐾 Day 2 – Safari Adventure & Kankai Mata Temple Darshan

Early morning wake-up, misty air, and we were ready for our first jungle safari in Gir National Park.
As our jeep entered the dense teak forest, nature unfolded her secrets — deer grazing, peacocks dancing, and finally, the majestic Asiatic lioness crossing our path.

Post-safari breakfast was followed by a divine drive to Kankai Mata Temple, deep within the Gir forest.
This sacred temple, dedicated to Mata Kankeshwari, is surrounded by wilderness — peaceful yet powerful. Access is limited, and forest permits are required, making it a special offbeat experience.

Our second safari took us to the lush green forest 2nd time, where wildlife sightings were abundant — lions lounging, leopards hidden in the grass, and flocks of colorful birds taking flight. WE were very lucky to see King & Queen of the Jungle

Later, we drove 60 km to Junagadh, a city that breathes history.
Highlights included:

  • Girnar Temple Hill – ancient steps leading to spirituality - Ropeway online advance booking

     must

  • Uparkot Fort – echoing tales of valor

  • Narshinh Mehta No Choro (As a Nagar Gruhat Parivar - Very emotional Place for us)

By evening, while way back to Sasan Reosort enjoyed Kathiyawad special Garam Garam Vanela Gathiya, Jalebi & Chai.

🌊 Day 4 – Somnath & Madhavpur: Where Faith Meets the Sea

Caption Suggestion: “Waves, devotion, and timeless serenity 🌊🕉️”

We began the day early, heading to Somnath Temple, one of India’s 12 sacred Jyotirlingas.
The temple stood tall beside the Arabian Sea, its golden spire glowing under the morning sun — a spiritual and visual spectacle.

Post-darshan, we followed the coastal highway to Madhavpur, visiting our Kuldevta temple and exploring the serene beach stretch.
The calm waves, clean sands, and local hospitality made it a perfect blend of peace and nostalgia.

✈️ Day 5 – Farewell to the Forest

Caption Suggestion: “Goodbye Gir… until the next roar 🦁💛”

After breakfast, it was time to bid farewell to Sasan Gir. The journey back to Rajkot’s Hirasar Airport was smooth and scenic.

We boarded our evening flight to Mumbai, carrying home unforgettable memories — the echo of lion calls, temple chants, and coastal breezes.
