Coorg Sightseeing Day-2 - Dubare Elephant Camp, The Golden Temple - Tibetan Monastery, Abby Waterfall & Madikeri around Sightseeing.

Our Coorg day 2 explore starts after having delicious breakfast @ our Cooeg Residence Resort - The Coorg Cliff Resort.

We visited Dubare Elephant Camp, The Golden Temple - Tibetan Monastery, Abby Waterfall & Madikeri around Sightseeing in our day 2 itinerary.

Ready to Start the day 2


1st Spot was Dubare Elephant Camp

It is a 30 km drive from Madikeri to Dubare Elephant Camp.

Dubare is known for its elephant camp, a forest camp on the banks of the river Kaveri in the district of Kodagu, Karnataka. It is an important base for the Karnataka Forest Department's elephants. ... In addition to the elephant training camp, Nisargadhama and Veerabhoomi are the other main attractions of the forest area.

Timings : Everyday 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM & 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Fares:-

Entry Fee: for Indian 20 Rs. INR & Non-Indian 40 Rs. INR

Elephant feeding charges: 20 Rs. INR

Elephant Bathing: 100 Rs. INR

Boating: 30 Rs. INR

We had visited Coorg in May end so Monsoon was not yet started & Rivers were empty so we could not make out to reach to the camp, As Camp is like Island inside the River Kavery & we need to reach there by boating. We had seen Elephants taking bath from another Bank of River.

One Important note: If you want to enjoy all activities of the elephant camp then visit this place when the river is full of water & you can boat down to the island camp.
 




















2nd Spot of Day 2 was - 
The Golden Temple - Tibetan Monastery

At a distance of 34 km from Madikeri, 4.5 km from Kushalnagar, The Golden Temple - Tibetan Monastery is located. Very Beautiful place. Must-Visit when in Coorg.

The Golden Temple complex is huge and it houses 40 feet high gilded images of Guru Padmasambhava (also known as Guru Rinpoche), Buddha Sakyamuni, and Amitayus. The temple tower is highly ornate. The outer walls flanking the doorway are decorated with huge colorful murals. The doors, red in color, have huge gold knockers and a thick plaited rope with tassels hanging from it. The walls are adorned with colorful paintings depicting gods and demons from Tibetan Buddhist mythology.

Timings: 9 AM - 6 PM, Prayer is at 1 PM and it is a wonderful experience to watch the prayer. Entry is free to visit, Only Parking charges applicable






























3rd Spot was Abby Waterfall 

Abbey Falls is in Kodagu, in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is located 8 km from the Madikeri

At May End & Monsoon not arrived yet, Still, the fall was full of water. You can very well imagine it's color of Monsoon.

You cannot take bath at Abbey Falls. Earlier visitors were allowed to go into the waters, but since many accidents started taking place, access to the falls was denied.

Abbey Falls can be reached by road from Madikeri. From Madikeri, travelers need to go through Galibeedu road to reach the location, from where they will need to walk on foot.









Abbey Falls is open for tourists on all days of the week. The visiting Timings of Abbey falls is from 9AM to 5PM. There is a minimal entry fee of Rs. 15 per person to visit the falls and a typical visit to the falls takes 2-3 hours of time.















Day 2 Ended with Madikeri Roaming & Random clicks.
